Career Summary
As Corporate Controller, Michelle is responsible for all financial activities of the brokerage and management companies. Michelle's responsibilites include preparation of financial statements for both divisions. She also prepares the payroll, processes billing and receivables. She is responsible for all insurance needs of the company, including business, E & O, workers comp, health, life and disability. She is responsible for preparing the annual budget and assisting in yearend tax planning. Prior to G&E | Levy Beffort, Michelle worked as controller at the Gooden Group, a public relations firm. In a job-sharing arrangement with another CPA/owner, she was responsible for all aspects of the accounting function. Prior to that, she was the Manager of Accounting for KOCO-TV. She was responsible for overseeing a staff of five in the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. She was instrumental in preparing the annual budget, communicating with the corporate office and assisting the controller with various projects. She also participated in the internal audit of an out of state Gannet TV station.
